Job Description
Our client is seeking an R&D Hardware Design Engineer for an exciting long-term contract opportunity.
DUTIES:
  • Design electro-mechanical assemblies, machined parts, sheet metal component parts and corrugated/foam packaging
  • Define mechanical constraints for PCBAs
  • Perform tolerance stackup analysis
  • Create fabrication drawings, parts lists and assembly drawings
  • FEA and thermal analysis
  • Source off the shelf components
  • Interface with suppliers and operations to address DFM & DFA issues
  • Assemble and validate prototype assemblies
  • Create change orders in Agile MRP system
  • Attend project team meetings

REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years of hands-on R&D Hardware Design Engineering experience
  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficient with Solidworks 3D CAD and simulation tools
  • Possesses understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machining
  • Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams
  • Experienced with GD&T
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Basic knowledge of PCB fabrication and design guidelines
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus
  • Experience with Agile a plus
