Location: Midland, TX (Onsite)
Type: Contract
Position Overview
The Client's Shale & Tight business unit is seeking a Power Platform Developer to support business enablement efforts aligned to a broader SAP S/4HANA transformation. This role will focus on modernizing reporting capabilities by developing Power BI dashboards, automating workflows, and replacing manual reporting processes currently dependent on Excel and SharePoint.
This individual will act as a key bridge between SAP data sources and business users, ensuring data is transformed into scalable, automated, and user-friendly reporting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports using SAP S/4HANA and related enterprise data sources
  • Replace manual Excel- and SharePoint-based reporting workflows with automated, scalable Power Platform solutions
  • Build and maintain Power Automate flows to streamline data movement, approvals, and reporting processes
  • Partner with business stakeholders in the Shale & Tight BU to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights
  • Develop and optimize data models and datasets for performance, accuracy, and usability
  • Integrate data from SAP and other COTS systems into centralized reporting solutions
  • Support the transition from legacy/manual reporting processes to modern BI tools
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and security compliance across all solutions
  • Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and troubleshooting for dashboards and workflows
Required Technical Skills
  • Strong experience developing with Power BI:
    • Data modeling (star schema design)
    • DAX and calculated measures
    • Dashboard design and performance optimization
  • Experience with Power Platform:
    • Power Automate (required)
    • Power Apps (preferred)
  • Experience working with SAP data (S/4HANA strongly preferred):
    • Data extraction via OData, APIs, CDS views, or flat file extracts
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel-based reporting environments and transitioning them to enterprise tools
  • Experience integrating data from COTS applications into reporting platforms
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured datasets
  • Experience with SharePoint-based data/process workflows
  • Familiarity with Azure data services (Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse) preferred

  • Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations or reporting transformations
  • Background in Oil & Gas, particularly upstream or shale operations
