Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) serves customers and developers who rely on storage, compute, and our other service capabilities. Our customers trust us to handle their data with air-tight security measures, which is something that we guarantee.
AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team, who will help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.
Key job responsibilities
The selected individual will be responsible for managing physical security operations, developing post orders, defining security procedures, handling site incidents, working with security equipment, participating in construction projects and to drive day-to-day process improvement activities and managing vendors.
Duties include ensuring consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures and participate in re-occurring site audits and reviews and testing new security technologies.
Must have and demonstrate resilient leadership skills, flexibility to work in dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices and strong written and verbal communication.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations
- 3+ years of project management experience
- 3+ years of process improvement procedure creation experience
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 3+ years of experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems (eg. LENEL or C-cure)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience
- 3+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors experience
- 4+ years of experience driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
- 3+ years of experience working with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
- 3+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
- 4+ years of overseeing security sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
- 4+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
