Albany State University is a fully accredited senior unit of the University System of Georgia. Location
Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 209.
Job Summary
The Institutional Data & Analytics Manager plays a key role in supporting institutional planning, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives through the application of data analytics, emerging technologies, and business intelligence tools. This position offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced analytics professional to contribute to a dynamic, mission-driven university while leveraging higher education analytics, business intelligence, and emerging technologies to drive institutional excellence and student success.
Responsibilities
  • Analyze institutional data related to enrollment, admissions, retention, graduation, academic performance, financial aid, faculty, and student success.
  • Develop analytical reports and data visualizations that provide actionable insights for executive leadership and institutional stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and automated reports using business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Extract, validate, integrate, and analyze data from institutional databases and information systems.
  • Assist with federal, state, University System of Georgia, accreditation, and other required institutional reporting.
  • Support institutional effectiveness, strategic planning, academic program review, accreditation, and assessment initiatives.
  • Respond to institutional data requests from university leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to improve data quality, reporting processes, and institutional data governance.
  • Present analytical findings in a clear and understandable manner to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, business intelligence tools, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence applications, and best practices in higher education analytics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, Business Analytics, Social Sciences, or a closely related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, institutional research, or a related analytical field.
  • Experience analyzing data and preparing reports, dashboards, or visualizations that support organizational decision-making.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and at least one data visualization or reporting platform.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new software applications, databases, and reporting systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Institutional research, higher education analytics, business intelligence, or performance reporting.
  • Data visualization and reporting tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Argos, or comparable platforms.
  • SQL, relational databases, data integration, reporting automation, or data warehousing.
  • Statistical analysis using tools such as SPSS, SAS, R, Python, or comparable software.
  • Student information systems, enterprise databases, or other large organizational data systems.
  • Accreditation, compliance, external reporting, predictive analytics, or artificial intelligence applications.
  • Analytical experience in higher education, government, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, finance, or another data-intensive environment.
