Job description

Data Analyst

Client Insurance is seeking a talented Data Analyst to transform data into actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions. In this role, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, and data engineers to analyze complex datasets, develop reporting solutions, and support high-priority projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the insurance domain, preferably commercial insurance, and be comfortable presenting insights to all levels of the organization. A strong foundation in SQL, Python, ETL/BI tools, and data visualization is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Develop models to support business initiatives and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional SMEs to gather, clarify, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed data specifications aligned with data models.
  • Create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) documents, defining data lineage and transformation logic.
  • Work with data engineers and modelers to validate mappings, resolve discrepancies, and improve data accuracy.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate SQL queries for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Perform data profiling, quality checks, and validation to ensure reliable datasets.
  • Support ETL/ELT pipeline development with logic, specifications, and transformation rules.
  • Prepare dashboards, reports, and analysis summaries for stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience in insurance analytics, preferably commercial insurance.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (Informatica preferred) and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data transformation, and statistical methods.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in a diverse, inclusive team environment.
