Job description

CWI / NDT Inspector, Structural Steel — Your Certs Deserve a Career, Not Just a Contract

Reno, NV | Full-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) | $40 – $50/hour (suggested, DOE) + OT at time-and-a-half | Company vehicle + gas card + laptop

The Opportunity

CWIs spend half their careers chasing project-to-project contract work. Here's the alternative: a long-term, stable inspector seat with an established engineering and inspection firm serving commercial and infrastructure projects across Northern Nevada. Our client is hiring experienced CWI and/or NDT Inspectors specializing in structural steel — with real benefits, a company truck, and overtime that pays.

Why You'll Love It

  • Stability without the travel circuit: Long-term local career, not a road-warrior contract
  • Company vehicle, gas card, and laptop: Assigned to you
  • 100% paid employee medical: Full premium covered (eligible after 60 days)
  • OT at 1.5x: Every hour over 40 pays time-and-a-half

What You'll Do

  • Perform structural steel inspections on commercial and infrastructure projects
  • Conduct welding inspections and non-destructive testing procedures
  • Verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
  • Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and engineers
  • Flag deficiencies and communicate findings promptly and professionally

What You'll Bring

  • Current CWI and/or NDT certifications (required)
  • Structural steel inspection experience (required)
  • Strong command of welding procedures and inspection standards
  • Excellent reporting and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital reporting platforms
  • Ability to work independently in the field

Also included: PTO for full-time employees; medical effective the first of the month after 60 days.
