About the role
Reworld is seeking a Mi-Jack crane operator and heavy equipment operator for its Derwood, MD Transfer Station in Montgomery County, MD. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating Reworld's heavy equipment at the site including Mi-Jack crane, front loader, bulldozer, and excavator.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Mi-Jack crane operator - Ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in the operation of a Mi-Jack crane used to move loaded and empty containers from truck chassis to railcars. Candidates would also be utilized as back up equipment operators becoming proficient in consolidating dumped refuse on the tipping floor, an excavator with trash grapple for loading outbound trucks, a forklift for material handling and a skid steer for yard sweeping and misc. tasks
  • Filling in for other positions as needed, including/but not limited to, equipment operator, compactor operator and shuttle driver occasionally
  • Aid mechanic on equipment repairs requiring additional help
  • Additional Duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor

Qualifications:
  • GED/HS Diploma preferred, Reworld offers GED Works - a fully funded program for employees to achieve their GED
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience operating heavy equipment including Mi-Jack Crane,
  • Front end Loaders, Excavators, preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions

Shift Work:
  • Weekly Rotating day and night shift weekly with intermittent mid-shift schedule.
  • 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. (Mon- Sat)
  • 3:00 p.m. - Close (Mon-Fri)

Pay Transparency

The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: 30.14 - 40.10 USD per hour
