Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Network Engineer - EPC/5G Core in Bellevue, WA.
Summary:
We are seeking experienced Network Engineers to support the testing, deployment, upgrade, optimization, and troubleshooting of Cisco EPC and 5G Core network environments. This role will work closely with internal engineering teams and telecom operators to validate new software releases, support production deployments, troubleshoot network issues, and improve overall network performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lab Testing & Validation:
* Install and upgrade EPC and 5G Core software in lab environments
* Develop, execute, and document test plans
* Validate new features and software releases
* Analyze test results and provide recommendations
* Support lab-to-production migration activities
Deployment & Upgrade Activities:
* Support production software deployments and upgrades
* Participate in maintenance windows and production implementations
* Review deployment and implementation plans
* Assist with production cutovers and rollout activities
* Support First Office Application (FOA) events and go-live activities
Network Troubleshooting:
* Troubleshoot EPC and 5G call flows
* Investigate software, configuration, and network issues
* Assist in incident resolution and service restoration efforts
* Work with technical support teams to diagnose complex network problems
* Support change-related troubleshooting during deployment activities
Network Design & Optimization:
* Review and optimize network architecture and designs
* Provide recommendations for scalability, resiliency, and performance improvements
* Evaluate impacts of network changes and enhancements
* Support Day-2 operations and post-launch optimization efforts
* Review security-related network impacts and recommend improvements
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong experience supporting EPC and/or 5G Core networks
* Hands-on experience with software upgrades, deployments, and network testing
* Experience troubleshooting mobile core network environments and call flows
* Strong understanding of IP networking, routing, switching, and telecom infrastructure
* Experience supporting production network implementations and change activities
* Ability to create technical documentation and communicate effectively with engineering teams
Preferred Experience:
* Cisco EPC or Cisco Ultra Packet Core (UPC)
* 5G Core deployments
* Mobile carrier environments (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, etc.)
* Telecom lab validation and production rollout experience
* Network optimization and performance tuning
* Wireless core network engineering backgrounds
* Strong experience supporting EPC and/or 5G Core networks
* Hands-on experience with software upgrades, deployments, and network testing
* Experience troubleshooting mobile core network environments and call flows

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
