About Camden Hills Regional High School
Camden Hills Regional High School, a state-of-the-art energy efficient facility that includes a wind turbine and solar panels, serves 710 students in grades 9 - 12 from primarily six surrounding towns. This is a very hands on position with focus on scratch cooking, assisting the kitchen manager with all aspects of the kitchen.
This position works 7am - 3:30pm, inclusive of an unpaid 30 minute break.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining a high standard of nutrition for all students.
  • Work as a team member with staff at assigned school.
  • Operate necessary equipment in the safest and most efficient way to maximum capacity.
  • Be responsible for the correct use of and care of all equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of all foods.
  • Follow established sanitation and HACCP (Hazardous Analytic Critical Control Point) procedures.
  • Maintain all federal and state production records and related paperwork as assigned by the Food Services Director.
  • Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Food Service Manager and/or Food Service Director.

Qualifications/Skills
  • Training in sanitation and food handling safety.
  • Ability to interact well with students, staff, and community.
  • Strong characteristics of cooperation, flexibility, initiative, and industriousness.

Requirements
  • Background check, including fingerprinting
  • Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval
  • Kitchen experience preferred
  • Knowledge of food service operations

Pay and Benefits
  • Pay is $20.44 - $25.72 based on experience, within the parameters of the applicable contract
