Chipton-Ross is seeking an Electrical Engineer for a contract opportunity in Stratford, CT.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE)
  • Proficiency with real time simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, NI VeriStand).
  • Strong understanding of hardware integration, signal conditioning, power distribution, and data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and specifications (e.g., Arinc-429, MIL-STD-1553, DO 160, MIL STD 810, ARP 4754).
  • Ability to create schematics and block diagrams using Visio, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, and 3DX.
  • Experience managing parts logistics-ordering, receiving, inventory control, and vendor coordination
  • Specifically contributing to the design, development, integration, and verification of test facilities. Previous experience must be with designing these test facilities to support HWIL and closed loop testing.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The System Integration Lab Engineer provides hands on technical support and engineering expertise to Sikorsky's Flight Controls Autonomy & Electrical (FCA&E) organization. Reporting to the FCA&E Lab Lead, the incumbent will contribute to the design, development, integration, and verification of high fidelity hardware in the loop (HWIL) and closed loop test facilities and capabilities within the System Integration Laboratories (SILS). This role blends systems engineering, test bed design / operation, and collaborative problem solving in a fast paced, cross functional environment. The engineer will help ensure laboratory activities align with business objectives, program priorities, and Sikorsky technical standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives that increase lab productivity and capability.
  • HWIL/Closed Loop Development: Assist the FCA&E Lab Lead in designing, building, integrating, and testing HWIL and closed loop configurations within the SILS, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and Sikorsky engineering practices.
  • Hardware Integration: Receive, stage, and integrate hardware from subsystem teams; manage interface control documents; and coordinate cross functional wiring, power, and data connections across system, segment, and supporting engineering groups.
  • Technical Collaboration: Participate actively in technical interchange meetings, provide clear status updates, and contribute to the preparation of deliverables for internal and external customers.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Track laboratory level risks and issues, maintain issue logs, and promptly elevate concerns to the FCA&E Lab Lead or program management while proposing mitigation actions.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Capture key performance indicators (KPIs) for SILS activities, generate concise status reports, and assist in metrics dashboards that reflect progress, resource utilization, and test outcomes.
  • Equipment & Facility Support: Help manage procurement of capital equipment, support facility modification projects, and assist with laboratory infrastructure planning (e.g., power distribution, network cabling, shielding, cooling).
  • Logistics Management: Order, receive, and track parts and consumables required for lab activities; maintain accurate inventory records; and coordinate with vendors and internal supply chains to ensure timely availability of components.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline lab processes, update work instructions, and adopt new tools or methodologies that enhance test efficiency and data quality.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain engineering documentation-including schematics, block diagrams, procedures, results, and lessons learned packages-in accordance with Sikorsky configuration control requirements.
  • Design Tools: Develop detailed schematics and system block diagrams using industry standard tools such as Microsoft Visio, Mentor Graphics, Zuken, and Siemens NX/3DX.

Accredited Bachelor's Degree.
WORK HOURS
Full-time; 4/10-1st Shift.
