Job description

Position:  Mechanical CAD Design Engineer
location:  Allentown, PA  - Onsite
Job Type: 24+ month contract
 

Job Description: 

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience using Autodesk Inventor to create, modify, and maintain 3D models, component drawings, and assembly drawings. A strong background in mechanical design, material selection, and component specification is required to optimize product cost, manufacturability, reliability, and performance.


Primary design responsibilities will include developing electrical and system enclosures, vacuum system components, gas delivery systems, and pneumatic assembliesExperience with Autodesk Vault for document management and proficiency in the Autodesk Inventor Tube & Pipe, Cable & Harness, and Sheet Metal environments is highly desirable.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and revising detailed engineering drawings and CAD models.
  • Developing and presenting design review documentation.
  • Supporting prototype builds, including procurement of prototype components.
  • Performing system integration, troubleshooting, and prototype testing.
  • Transferring designs to manufacturing and supporting production release activities.
  • Generating and maintaining technical documentation, including assembly instructions, test procedures, installation guides, and service manuals.

The ideal candidate will also have experience with Enovia PLM, a solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, and familiarity with applicable ASTM standards. Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
