Job description

Role Summary:
Produces coordinated construction drawings, models, redlines, and as-builts under the direction of the VP of Engineering & Design, ensuring the field has accurate, buildable documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain AutoCAD and / or Revit deliverables for low-voltage and fiber scope, including plans, elevations, details, schedules, sheets, and revision-controlled issue sets.
  • Model cabinet layouts, rack elevations, ladder rack and containment routing, underfloor and overhead pathways, and MDA, IDA, HDA, and EDA relationships in the data hall.
  • Produce accurate fiber port-mapping schedules, cabinet naming conventions, labeling references, splice and cassette schedules, and drawing indexes that align to field execution and turnover requirements.
  • Incorporate engineering markups, field redlines, survey input, and RFI responses into construction updates and final as-builts with strict version control.
  • Support coordination with electrical, mechanical, structural, and construction teams by participating in clash review, space validation, and constructability updates.
  • Generate material takeoff support, drawing extracts, and installation views that help field teams execute efficiently and consistently.
  • Maintain document quality by checking layer standards, sheet references, annotation consistency, and alignment between model content and issued scope.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Civil, Architectural, Electrical Design, or related discipline.
  • Fluent in AutoCAD and Revit with the ability to produce clean construction documents and disciplined BIM / model revisions in a fast-moving project environment.
  • Working knowledge of data center layouts, structured cabling pathways and spaces, rack and cabinet planning, and containment routing for low-voltage and fiber systems.
  • Ability to model rack elevations, cabinet layouts, and high-density fiber administration details accurately enough to support installation, labeling, and as-built turnover.
  • Strong attention to detail in redline capture, as-built production, sheet management, and document control.
  • Comfort working directly with engineering, project management, and field leaders to convert design intent and site changes into buildable documentation.

Certifications / Training:
  • Preferred: BICSI ITS, DCDC, or equivalent structured cabling / data center design credential.
  • Preferred: Autodesk certification or equivalent advanced training in Revit and AutoCAD production workflows.
