Job description

HGA is seeking an Electric and Communications Project Inspector for a 6-8 month contract opportunity to support operations in Durango, CO. This Electric and Communications Project Inspector is responsible for inspecting post-construction overhead and underground electric distribution work to ensure proper installation and workmanship in accordance with industry standards and construction specifications.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections during and after construction of electric distribution and communication jobs (both overhead and underground) to verify compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
  • Document inspection findings, including observations and issues, and provide detailed reports to the client.
  • Maintain daily logs of progress and track inspection hours for assigned projects.
  • Open energized electrical equipment as necessary-no direct interaction with live components is required.
  • Ensure inspections are completed with a high level of quality and within required timeframes.
  • Monitor construction activities on-site and collaborate with crew foremen to address safety concerns and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience or more
    Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent credentials, such as completion of an Apprentice Lineman Program, Electrical Lineworker Certificate, NJATC Certification, or NCCER Electrical Lineworker Certification.
  • Certification or training allowing safe access to energized equipment is required.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to operate software and upload documentation using an iPad.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must reside within daily commuting distance of Ridgway, CO.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a line crew foreman.
  • Familiarity with electric distribution safety standards and inspection processes.
  • Previous field inspection experience in utility or communication projects.

The pay for this position will be in the $41-$63/hour range
