Join Collins Aerospace in York, Nebraska as a CNC Programmer and help shape the future of precision manufacturing. In this role, you’ll program complex parts for both 2‑axis and advanced 5‑axis machining, working hands-on with an impressive range of equipment.  You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with operators and process engineers, refining programs, improving workflows, and supporting the creation of defect‑free parts. With ongoing upgrades to our NX software and continued investment in new equipment, this is an opportunity to push your programming skills, grow with a cutting‑edge site, and directly influence the quality and efficiency of our manufacturing operations.

What You Will Do

  • Programming with NX CAD/CAM software for 2 axis machines as well as 5 axis machines.
  • Working with machines such as: Makino HMC’s and VMC’s, Mori HMC’s and VMC’s, Mazak vertical 5-axis, Okuma lathes, Multus mill turning, Index turning, Swiss turning, and more to come.
  • Working with materials such as: Tool Steel, aluminum, 15-5 stainless steel, cast iron, 4140, 9310, Nitronic 60, 300M, and more.
  • Tolerances: Range from +/-.020 to .0002 total.
  • Software: NX. We are currently running 2506 but will upgrade as new platforms become available.
  • Programming with NX CAD/CAM software
  • Communicate program adjustments across teams and operators to improve processes and workflows
  • Work effectively with Process Engineering in the design of defect-free parts

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to apply mechanical principles to practical tasks and problem-solving.
  • Proven capability to develop creative or non-standard technical solutions within engineering or manufacturing environments.

  • 5 years of machining experience
  • Basic proficiency in G‑code programming for CNC and other automated machining equipment.
  • Practical experience operating or programming mills, lathes, and grinding equipment.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
