Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic Carson City manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming and machining, with the ability to operate CNC l machines effectively. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality components in a fast-paced environment. 

Duties

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines according to specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining processes.
  • Utilize CAD software and SolidWorks for design modifications and programming.
  • Perform CNC programming, including CAM programming, to ensure accurate part production.
  • Conduct quality checks using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines.
  • Maintain tooling and equipment, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement lean manufacturing practices for efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot issues with machinery and make necessary adjustments during production runs.
  • Engage in assembly tasks as needed and assist with electrical discharge machining when required.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe machines.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical documents effectively.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Basic math skills for calculations related to machining processes.
  • Knowledge of Fanuc controls is a plus.
  • Ability to operate forklifts safely is an advantage.
