Job Title: Contract Planning Engineer
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting Contract Planning Engineer with our client in Charlotte, NC.
Job Description:
  • The team is looking for a Contract Planning Engineer to support our team! As a Planning Engineer your responsibilities will include managing network elements for voice and data networks and monitoring and evaluating capacity utilization for these networks.
  • You will also submit capacity triggers as necessary and forecast and trend bandwidth growth to produce capacity triggers for bandwidth relief.
  • In addition, you will develop plans to augment capacity relief as needed. Position requires limited direction and guidance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Main Focus:
    • Documentation of GPON & XGS-PON Existing and Planned activity including Visio diagrams
  • Secondary Focus:
    • Triggering projects utilizing the most feasible, practical and economical means
    • Performing engineering work and applied research, development and design of new projects, to include design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of equipment and devices
    • Analyzing complex local and wide area network systems and/or customer network environment, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges and other devices
    • Handling moderately complex engineering assignments
    • Resolving difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across all platforms including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and the like
    • Support of acquisition and implementation of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services
    • May act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership for lower level employees.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and relevant experience
  • 4+ years of related experience in telecommunications Engineering or Planning (OSP/ISP/Access)
  • Ability to communicate fluently with technical individuals from Engineering, Sales and Operations.
Nice To Have:
  • Previous Experience with same organization or Lumen Planning/Engineering Software Systems.
  • Edge, Access or OSP Planning experience
