Job description

Construction Inspector- Aviation
***Work Location: Nashville, TN ***
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides construction management services on multiple or complex projects at an international airport facility.
  • Provides on-going construction inspection, quality assurance and performs specialty inspections.
  • Reviews contractor’s work inspects delivered materials and verifies certifications.
  • Ensures compliance with approved construction documents, specifications and contract requirements.
  • Records daily observations and reports noncompliance.
  • Coordinates and verifies field testing of materials
  • Review and approves pay applications.
  • Reviews contractor’s quality control and safety manuals and procedures.
  • Performs daily safety inspections.
  • Reviews construction plans and specifications.
  • Reviews contractor submittals for constructability and compliance.
This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma is required or GED with a minimum of 8 years of construction inspection experience
  • Alternatively, an Associate degree (two- year degree)/Technical Training degree (two years of training) in construction management, engineering, or related field, along with 6 years’ experience in construction inspection.
  • Or, a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, plus 4 years of relevant experience
  • 8+ years of experience in construction inspection construction materials testing and/or observation in the transportation field
  • State certifications in Materials Testing preferred, along with safety certifications
  • Experience with airport construction projects
