Job description

Description:  Science Teachers - Biology, Chemistry, and Physical Science
Terms of Employment:  10 Month Employee (temporary if hired after contractual start date for teachers)
Reports to:  Building Principal
Salary:  Current teacher salary schedule
Minimum Qualifications:







  • Meets certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Biology, Chemistry and/or Physical Science Grades 9-12
  • Successful completion of Praxis II exam

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach to students in grades 9-12
  • Able to work with students in a secondary school placement
  • Works cooperatively with all staff and parents
  • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
  • Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior
  • Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
  • Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's mission statement.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
  • Establish and maintain open basis of communication with students, parents, staff and administration.
  • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day consistent with contract obligations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Mandatory Direct Deposit of paycheck
