What is a Contract BCBA job?

A Contract BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a professional who provides behavioral therapy services on a contract basis rather than as a full-time employee. They work with clients, typically individuals with autism or developmental disorders, to assess behavior, develop intervention plans, and train caregivers or staff. Contract BCBAs often have flexible schedules and may work for multiple organizations or clients. This role allows for greater autonomy but may require managing billing, scheduling, and other business aspects independently.

To thrive as a Contract BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst), you need a graduate degree in behavior analysis or related field, active BCBA certification, and comprehensive knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles. These competencies are critical for delivering effective interventions, supporting clients, and maintaining high standards in varied contract-based settings.
