Job Title: Python Backend Developer (Azure)
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Type: Long-Term Contract - W2 / C2C
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Python Backend Developer with strong hands-on experience in Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs, ensuring scalability, performance, and security across distributed applications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Python frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
  • Integrate applications with Azure Cloud services including Azure Functions, Azure App Service, and Azure SQL.
  • Design and manage RESTful APIs for data exchange and integration.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployments using Azure DevOps.
  • Work closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, and architects to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Write efficient, reusable, and testable code while following best practices.
  • Monitor application performance and optimize backend operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 9+ years of professional experience as a Backend Developer using Python.
  • Strong experience with Azure Cloud Services (App Services, Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, etc.).
  • Proficiency in REST API development and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container orchestration tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
  • Solid understanding of database design (SQL & NoSQL).
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, JWT).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with serverless architecture in Azure.
  • Familiarity with message queues (Azure Service Bus, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Understanding of data security and compliance in cloud environments.
