Job description

Build secure, scalable backend solutions while helping leading financial institutions strengthen their technology platforms and accelerate vulnerability remediation initiatives.

The Role

Capco is seeking an Junior Backend Developer (Contract - 6 months) to support a major Financial Services client in delivering vulnerability remediation initiatives across critical applications and platforms. This role combines hands-on backend engineering with cross-functional collaboration, helping delivery teams implement, test, and validate remediation activities that strengthen application security and platform resilience.

You will work across development, testing, DevOps, troubleshooting, and production support activities while collaborating closely with engineering teams, security stakeholders, and business partners to ensure successful delivery outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot within enterprise-scale applications.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and application modernization initiatives across critical technology platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineers, and delivery teams to gather requirements and implement effective solutions.
  • Participate in code deployment, testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities across the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery teams, ensuring high-quality, secure, and resilient technology solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing and supporting backend services, APIs, and distributed applications.
  • Understanding of deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, testing practices, and release management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
