Seeking a Senior Experiential Designer in Portland, OR to turn brand narratives into immersive spatial concepts, pop-ups, and architectural installations. Requires environmental design experience, 3D modeling (SketchUp), and material & fabrication knowledge in a fast-paced team.

Role Overview

We are seeking a creative professional to join our energetic Portland team. The perfect candidate possesses a foundation in environmental design, excelling within an agile, cooperative setting that merges narrative crafting with physical space development.

Core Responsibilities
  • Transform brand narratives into immersive spatial concepts for interior environments, launches, pop‑ups, retail environments, and architectural installations.
  • Build narrative‑driven decks that pitch complex spatial ideas into clear, high‑impact client presentations.
  • Develop spatial concepts and evolve them into detailed, buildable design solutions.
  • Draft technical assets including spatial diagrams, floor plans, elevations, sections, schedules, details, and 3D informational models.
  • Use 3D modeling to explore form, scale, materials, and real‑world spatial experience.
  • Apply strong material and fabrication knowledge to ensure design intent carries through production.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative director, designers, clients, consultants, project managers, and fabricators to ensure physical builds match the design intent.
  • Take ownership of design deliverables while staying flexible in a fast‑moving, collaborative studio environment.
  • Mentor Junior Designers by guiding their technical sketching, 3D rendering skills, and spatial storytelling techniques.
  • Support on‑site installs and field production when needed.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Educational background in architectural studies or interior environments, or comparable professional background.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite for design development, storytelling, and presentation.
  • Expertise in SketchUp and other 3D modeling tools for spatial design and visualization. Proficiency in Revit a plus.
  • Advanced skills in drafting software alongside the capability to produce intricate technical schematics.
  • Demonstrated history using Creative Cloud tools for identity layout and visual assets.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction substrates, surface treatments, and production techniques.
  • Previous background operating within an integrated fabrication studio is advantageous.
  • Availability to fulfill duties locally at our Portland headquarters.
