Contract Angular Developer information

What is a contract Angular developer?

A Contract Angular Developer is a software professional hired on a contractual basis to design, develop, and maintain web applications using the Angular framework. They typically work for a fixed period or on specific projects, rather than as permanent employees. Their responsibilities include building user interfaces, integrating APIs, and ensuring applications are responsive and efficient. Contract Angular Developers often collaborate with other developers, designers, and project managers to deliver high-quality web solutions within set deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a contract Angular developer?

To thrive as a Contract Angular Developer, you need strong proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, typically supported by a degree in computer science or equivalent experience. Familiarity with tools like Angular CLI, version control systems (such as Git), RESTful APIs, and sometimes certifications in front-end frameworks are commonly required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and effective communication distinguish top performers in this role. These skills ensure effective development, timely project delivery, and seamless collaboration with teams or clients in dynamic environments.

How do contract Angular developers typically collaborate with in-house teams during a project?

Contract Angular Developers often work closely with in-house teams, including backend developers, UX/UI designers, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of Angular components with existing systems. They usually participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews via remote collaboration tools. Effective communication and adhering to the team's coding standards are key to maintaining project consistency and quality. Most organizations provide onboarding sessions and access to documentation to help contract developers quickly adapt to the team's workflow.

Job description

PCMI is a fast-growing global SaaS company and a market leader in extended warranty, F&I, and service contract administration. Our platform automates the entire product lifecycle for customers worldwide - and we're just getting started. With teams across North America (US & Canada), Europe (Poland), and Asia (India), we're modernizing our architecture, embedding AI across our products, and scaling to meet growing demand. We move fast, we build with purpose, and we're hiring leaders who want to shape what comes next.
What You'll Do
The Staff Engineer leads technical design and delivery across one or more squads, driving architecture decisions, mentoring engineers at all levels, and ensuring engineering quality at scale. This role operates with high autonomy, translates ambiguous business problems into clear technical strategies, and partners closely with product and engineering leadership to shape the team's roadmap.
In this role, you will:
  • Own and drive technical design and architecture for squad-level and cross-squad systems.
  • Decompose complex product roadmap items into incremental, deliverable milestones with clear technical direction.
  • Lead estimation, planning, and risk assessment for medium-to-large initiatives.
  • Set and enforce engineering quality standards including code reviews, testing strategies, and security practices.
  • Lead root cause analysis and resolution for complex production incidents; incorporate lessons into team norms.
  • Mentor engineers at IC1 and IC2 levels; actively contribute to their technical growth.
  • Evaluate build/buy/adopt decisions and clearly articulate tradeoffs to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to shape the product roadmap and define requirements.
  • Champion DevSecOps practices, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and implement scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions using .NET Core, ASP.NET, Angular, and Azure.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for the squad.

What You'll Need to Join Our Team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience with .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical design and architecture across one or more product teams.
  • Deep expertise in Domain-Driven Design (DDD), SOLID principles, and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in C#, Angular, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Strong experience with Azure cloud architecture (App Services, Service Bus, Azure SQL, and related services).
  • Proficiency in unit and integration testing frameworks; experience driving TDD and test strategy at the team level.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, TeamCity, Octopus).
  • Experience evaluating and introducing new technologies and frameworks to a team.
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
