By connecting students with community and corporate volunteers, JA provides hands-on learning experiences that inspire and prepare them for the real world.
Mission Advancement Intern
The Mission Advancement Intern will gain hands-on experience in marketing, communications, social media, andfundraising for a meaningful purpose. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to ouroutreach efforts, enhance our online presence, and help us tell our story to a wider audience. You'll work closelywith our team to develop compelling content, engage with our community, and support critical program andfundraising initiatives. You must be available to work in the Costa Mesa office and travel to various Orange County
locations. Exact hours will vary based on your schedule, but will generally fall between 7AM and 3PM, Monday-Friday
Responsibilities
Mission Advancement Intern
  • Photo and Video Production: Organize, film, and edit compelling testimonials from volunteers,
  • students, and teachers. Assist the program director with photographing volunteers at programs, organizing the photos, and storing them to share with volunteers.
  • Social Media Management: Develop and schedule engaging content for our LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok profiles, including graphics, photos, videos, and captions, to increase brand awareness and engagement and to promote fundraising events and initiatives.
  • Graphic Design: Design eye-catching promotional flyers and other marketing materials for upcoming programs and events using Canva.
  • Fundraising and Event Management: Provide comprehensive support for fundraising events from
  • concept to completion.
  • Research: Conduct research on current social media trends and best practices for nonprofit marketing.
  • General Support: Provide administrative and logistical support to the staff as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Little to minimal prior experience. Ability to learn support process. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Enrolled in college, 1-3 years' experience
  • Strong interest in social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) and digital marketing trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in Canva is desired.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, iMovie, CapCut) is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and eager to learn.
