Prepares the clinical environment and maintains equipment for student and client sessions.
Supervises, assesses, and provides feedback to students on clinical skills, documentation, and performance.
Communicates with students, families, and faculty regarding assessment, treatment, and student progress.
The SLP Clinical Educator (CE) is a state-licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist who educates, mentors, and supervises students performing client evaluations, screenings, and treatment of patients (adult and pediatric) during on-campus MS-SLP residencies. CEs are required to attend any essential training opportunities offered by the program.
The qualified candidate must have an entry-level master’s degree or higher, along with an appropriate state license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. At least 2 years of hands-on experience is required in a patient care setting in the profession, and completion of the ASHA requirement for supervision of graduate interns. The successful candidate will have excellent oral communication and organizational skills, be responsive to adult student needs, and be able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
This is an hourly, as-needed position for on-campus residencies. Hours will vary based on program requirements. Work schedules will be established in collaboration with program leaders and faculty.
