Summary

This is an on-site role located in the Salt Lake City, UT area. Applicants must reside near and be able to work in the office.

The Sales Development Rep - who we like to call our Studio Growth Consultants - plays a key role in Walla's go-to-market strategy for boutique fitness studios. This role sits at the intersection of sales, marketing, and customer insights—helping uncover opportunities, guide outreach strategy, and connect studios with solutions that grow their businesses.
This role is a growth engine for Walla's SMB segment. It ensures that our earliest studio conversations are high-quality, informed, and focused on helping—not just selling. It also plays a critical support role in improving lead quality, marketing efficiency, and market intelligence.
Studio Growth Consultants serve as advisors, researchers, and industry liaisons—conducting outreach, performing audits, and providing feedback to both sales and marketing. This is an ideal role for someone who understands the boutique fitness landscape and loves connecting with studio owners in a helpful, consultative way.

Who You Are:

  • You have a self-directed, start-up mentality who takes ownership for their work, doesn't mind helping the team with periodic projects outside specific job description, and will help establish our company culture as we grow.
  • You use humor to carry yourself through challenges. You bring smiles, laughs, and lots of gifs

  • You possess expert communication skills and empathy that allows you to communicate with individuals throughout an organization

  • You balance confidence with humility

  • You don't waste time. You are efficient, effective, and work hard. You take pride in your day-to-day work.

  • You want to be part of a fast-paced environment to build something that will change the world!

What You'll Be Doing:
1. Studio Engagement & Outreach

  • Conduct high-quality outreach to studio owners and managers via phone, email, and social
  • Guide early conversations to uncover studio needs, current tools, and challenges
  • Position Walla in a consultative, educational way—not a hard sales pitch

2. Research & Insight Gathering

  • Perform light digital audits of studio websites and social media
  • Gather qualitative insights from conversations to inform marketing and product
  • Help identify trends across markets and regions (e.g., common challenges, pricing patterns, competitor usage)

3. CRM & Target Account Strategy

  • Build and enrich records in HubSpot (e.g., owner names, tech stack, class schedules)
  • Collaborate with AEs to support handoffs and account planning

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing to shape messaging and content that reflects studio pain points
  • Support feedback loops between sales, marketing, and product based on studio conversations
  • Contribute to territory planning and campaign execution in target ZIPs and metros

What You Bring to the Team

  • 1-3 years of outbound SDR or BDR experience in a SaaS or tech company (fitness/wellness industry a bonus)

  • Proven track record of hitting and exceeding outbound activity and meeting quotas

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Obsessed with personalization and crafting smart outreach

  • Confident using outreach tools (HubSpot, etc.) and comfortable in a metrics-driven role

  • Bias for action, curiosity, and grit you find a way in when doors seem closed

  • Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment

Bonus Points

  • Background in or passion for fitness/wellness

  • Previous exposure to product-led or hybrid sales motions

What We Have For You:

  • A mission-driven team reshaping the future of fitness tech

  • Opportunities for growth into AE or other strategic roles

  • A culture that values creativity, experimentation, and hustle

  • Remote work environment

  • Unlimited vacation policy

  • Company-paid medical, dental, and vision plans / 50% covered for dependents

  • Participation in company equity plan with a fast-growing company

This position has a target OTE of $70,000 per year

This is an on-site role located in the Salt Lake City, UT area. Applicants must reside near and be able to work in the office.
