The Risk & Compliance Specialist is responsible for identifying, assessing, and tracking risks mitigation across all organizational operations while simultaneously driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and compliance with relevant regulations and internal standards. This role will actively monitor processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to optimize performance and minimize risk exposure.


Responsibilities:

Risk Management:

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential risks across all business functions, including operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Develop and maintain a risk register, documenting risk details, mitigation strategies, and ownership assignments.
  • Monitor risk mitigation activities and escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.
  • Facilitate regular risk reviews and updates to the risk register based on changing business conditions and regulatory landscapes.
  • Ensure implementation of Risk Assessments and Management within the organizational units in alignment with the Risk Management Policy and Framework.

Compliance Management:

  • Track adherence to all applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal compliance policies.
  • Develop and implement compliance training programs for employees at all levels.
  • Conduct compliance audits and investigations to identify potential non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance metrics and report findings to senior management.

Risk and Compliance Process Improvement:

  • Analyze current business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including efficiency gains, cost reductions, and quality enhancements.
  • Facilitate cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to identify trends and patterns related to risk and compliance.
  • Generate comprehensive reports on risk assessments, compliance status, and process improvement initiatives to senior management.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to effectively communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organization to identify and address risk and compliance concerns.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide ongoing consultation on risk management and process improvement strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of management to ensure alignment with compliance goals and risk mitigation plans.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, with a specialization in Risk Management, Compliance, or Quality Management
  • Proven experience of 2+ years in risk management, and compliance within a complex business environment. Experience in process improvement is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to identify trends and potential risks.
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards such as SOC2, ISO27001 etc.
  • Familiarity with policy creation, internal audits, and risk registers
  • Certifications: Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) or similar is a plus.
