Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Valid Teaching Certificateย 

Reports to: Building Principal
Contract Year: (number of months)ย ย  9 months, unless stated otherwise.
Salary Range: Determined by Certified Salary Schedule.

  3. Schedule individual, group, and whole class activities.
  4. Obtain necessary supplies and equipment for all activities.
  5. Plan and prepare for all levels of student abilities.

  4. Accept primary responsibility for classroom discipline and supervision
  5. Promote understanding of and respect for self, classmates, and those in authority
  6. Encourage respect for personnel and school property.
  7. Supervise detention period (if applicable).

  1. Evaluate curriculum
  2. Take part in curriculum development and revision
  3. Update materials and teaching methods as needed.
  4. Serve on textbook selection committees.

  1. Develop evaluation procedures for course content which will allow for flexible, fair and diagnostic progress report of student progress.
  2. Evaluate pupil performance continuously to determine nature and extent of direction needed to attain goals.
  3. Continuously self-evaluate teaching methods.

  1. Prepare mid-term progress reports.
  2. Prepare report cards.
  3. Confer with parents

  1. Maintain all required attendance and grade records.
  2. Maintain cumulative folders and cards
  3. Record money collections (room mothers, lyceums, pictures, lunches, etc.).
  4. Maintain classroom inventory of material and equipment.

Key Duties:

  1. Organize materials and supplies
  2. Requisition supplies
  3. Report needed repairs to responsible party
  4. Use and care for all materials and equipment responsibly and carefully
  5. Be responsible for classroom security.

Key Duties:

  1. Read professional magazines and journals to keep informed.
  2. Take continuing education courses, as possible
  3. Communicate with other teachers, locally and in other school districts.
  4. Participate in in-service workshops and clinics.
  5. Participate in professional conventions in own teaching field, as possible.

Key Duties:

  1. Be supportive of school functions.
  2. Strive to be a model staff member, amicably sharing all responsibilities.
  3. Interact and cooperate with other teachers for the improvement of grade level and/or subject area programs.
  4. Maintain professional cooperation with building principal and other administrators.
  5. Be aware of and responsive to community programs and resources.

  1. Serve as liaison between individual children and support staff
  2. Make referrals for special services
  3. Arrange for field trips, resource personnel, etc.
