Job description

Position Summary...The Director, Global User-Generated Content (UGC) Compliance will lead the development and execution of compliance strategy to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements and platform safety standards. This role will direct the expansion and continuous improvement of an effective compliance program for UGC, overseeing policy creation, risk management, design and implementation of controls, and operational process improvements. The position will oversee large-scale content moderation strategy, monitor key performance and quality metrics, and drive trust and safety initiatives that align compliance efforts with broader business objectives. 
About the team
The Global User-Generated Content Compliance team reports into the larger Global Marketplace & eCommerce Compliance (GMEC) organization. As the leader of the UGC Compliance team, you will be responsible for developing capabilities to govern user-submitted content across digital marketplaces, social commerce, search capabilities, and review platforms. You will develop processes and leverage technologies to help prevent and mitigate risks among a variety of digital compliance areas, including child safety, intellectual property, endorsements, and platform liability.   • Lead the expansion and continuous improvement of an effective global compliance program for user-generated content (UGC).
  • Establish and govern enterprise-wide moderation policies, controls, and escalation pathways for legal, regulatory, and trust and safety risks.
  • Leverage analytics, business intelligence, and monitoring programs to measure control effectiveness, identify emerging risks, and unlock future business growth.
  • Partner closely with partners in Global Tech, Product, and Engineering to develop and deploy scalable product solutions for content moderation and digital safety.
  • Evaluate and implement new and emerging technologies, utilizing artificial intelligence and machine learning to expand moderation capabilities, increase operational efficiencies, and drive accuracy across our platforms.

  • You bring deep subject matter expertise in building and scaling compliance programs in the areas of trust and safety, content moderation, and/or user-generated content. 
  • You possess strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.  
  • You demonstrate strong judgment.

  • You are a strategist first, with the ability and agility to execute on both tactical and operational issues. 
  • You have experience leading others—including direct reports, cross-functional teams, and vendors. 
  • You make data-driven decisions based on prior experience with analytics, business intelligence, and risk monitoring.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently with senior leaders. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD) or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Legal/Regulatory, or related field.
  • Experience integrating Machine Learning (ML) or AI models into compliance/moderation workflows.
  • Familiarity with data science and statistics concepts.
