As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, detailing, and documenting mechanical assemblies and automated equipment. You will collaborate with internal teams and occasionally interface with customers to translate requirements into effective, cost‑efficient engineering solutions. Client Details My client is a well‑established industrial automation manufacturer specializing in custom-engineered machinery and automated systems for a wide range of production environments. Known for technical innovation and high‑quality engineering, the organization partners closely with customers to deliver reliable, cost‑effective automation solutions without publicizing its identity. Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and be responsible for: Develop both conceptual and detailed mechanical designs for automated systems and integrated work cells. Engineer mechanical components, subassemblies, and custom modifications to industrial automation equipment. Design pneumatic systems and specify related components. Select appropriate sensors and electrical components to support system functionality. Perform engineering analyses and calculations to validate structural integrity, performance, and manufacturability. Produce accurate, timely designs using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred) and technical documentation tools. Prepare technical content for customer proposals and project deliverables. Maintain organized project files, drawings, and documentation throughout the engineering lifecycle. Manage multiple active design projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. Stay informed on emerging technologies relevant to automation equipment and mechanical design. Represent the engineering team with professionalism and a customer‑focused mindset.
