Gallery Associate: Operations & Client Relations
Temp-to-Possible-Hire | $35.00/hour | 20–25 hours/week | Mission District, San Francisco

A well-established, 13-year-old contemporary art gallery in the Mission District is seeking a Gallery Associate for a temp-to-possible-hire position. This role blends day-to-day operations and administrative support with occasional public-facing responsibilities, including meeting clients and attending gallery events.

The gallery maintains relationships with major private and institutional collectors, so the ideal candidate will be just as comfortable representing the gallery in front of clients as they are handling administrative work behind the scenes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for daily gallery functions
  • Occasionally meet with clients and represent the gallery at events
  • Help keep exhibitions and general gallery operations running smoothly

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, art, and/or administrative work preferred
  • Comfortable in both public-facing and behind-the-scenes roles
  • An interest in contemporary art is a strong plus

Schedule
