Job Responsibilities:
Objective:
Responsible for the verification/handling of all shipments on the MPTSH truck.
Scope
All aspects & functions involved in the application of truck driver.
Responsibilities, Duties and Authority: (These duties cover only the more significant responsibilities, they are not meant to be all inclusive. Other duties may be given by the supervisor in addition to, or instead of, those listed here.)
Pick up and deliver in accordance to schedule. Maintain truck in a neat and orderly manner including keeping repairs up to date. Check to make sure that the right part with the right quantity gets on the truck. Be able to move large containers safely and without damage. Verify shipments being picked up to the shipper. Inform production control department of any discrepancies on shippers. Responsible of all items needed for legal trucking procedures (stickers, inspection reports and daily log). The use of bar code scanners for shipments. Must be able to load and unload own truck without supervision. Assist shipping and receiving departments as a hilo driver. Unload and put away stock (packaging and components) from pickups. Responsibility for organization and filing of all paperwork. Perform Cycle counts as needed. Excellent Attendance. Participates in continuous improvement activities, submits improvement suggestions. Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to including TS16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee Handbook. Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment). Responsible to secure own load to ensure safety of product.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma/GED, Shipping dock and Forklift experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Hi-Lo permits are required. Must have a valid driver's license with Class A CDL endorsement. Requires excellent hi-lo skills.
Additional Skills:
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and shipping instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic math, ability to add, subtract and multiply.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results. Able to work with others in a team environment. Have the ability to adjust to constantly changing shipping schedules with patience.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
