Description
FIC America Corp. is a global Tier 1 automotive components manufacturer centrally located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. We are actively seeking a Logistics Forklift Operator and Order Picker. The position is a combination of order picking and forklift operation. Team member will pick orders and operate industrial electric sit-down forklifts and/or electric pallet jacks equipped to move materials in the warehouse region and load/unload truck trailers or shipping container. Time driving forklift is contingent on business needs.
Essential Job Functions
  • Complete forklift/electric pallet jack pre-shift inspection prior to operating equipment
  • Pick orders following pick line process
  • Remove materials from containers and place them into customer containers based on order
  • Complete verification forms, shipping alert orders, and daily logs
  • Stack materials and containers onto pallets to build skids for transport
  • Use controls or levers to operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks to load, unload, transport, or stack finished products
  • Set position of lifting devices under loaded pallets, skids, or containers
  • Store products and secure materials or products for transport to designated areas
  • Signal presence to workers when operating vehicles by primarily sounding horn and by other means
  • Complete and satisfactorily pass forklift operator/pallet jack operator training that is provided by the company
  • Follow standard work instructions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Other Job Functions
  • Comply with FIC's Safety policies and procedures
  • Comply with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 procedures and standards
  • Perform 5-S activities

Requirements
  • 3+ years forklift experience required (prefer logistics environment but not required) - sit down electric forklift and electric pallet jack
  • Must be willing to order pick, in addition to driving the forklift
  • Must be able to speak and read basic English to comply with position, Safety, Plant & PPE procedures and requirements
  • Forklift experience and capability to pass an assessment
  • Willingness to work with an ERP system and use tablet/scanner
  • Must be comfortable communicating with the drivers as needed
  • Must be willing to cross-train
  • Must comply with FIC's attendance and punctuality policy
  • Must be able to work company's required overtime

Pay Range $19 - $22/hour based on qualifications and experience
Additional Compensation We operate two shifts and 2nd Shift employees are given a $1/hour shift differential
