🕔 Schedule: 8am-5pm | Monday-Friday (opportunity for OT)

We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Chassis Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining intermodal chassis to ensure they meet safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety and quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, repair, and maintain intermodal chassis, including braking systems, lights, suspensions, landing gear, tires, and structural components

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues on chassis and related trailer equipment

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and DOT inspections

  • Weld, cut, and fabricate parts as necessary to complete repairs

  • Complete accurate repair documentation, work orders, and inspection forms

  • Operate power tools, hand tools, and shop equipment in a safe and efficient manner

  • Ensure all work complies with DOT regulations, company standards, and safety procedures

  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure timely and effective repairs

  • Assist with yard moves or minor container repairs as needed

Qualifications: 

  • Experience in chassis/trailer repair and maintenance

  • Knowledge of brake systems, lights, tires, and framework

  • Basic welding skills preferred not required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
  • Must have basic set of hand tools
  • Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening

  • Previous experience working in a Depot, port, terminal, or intermodal setting
  • Basic electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting skills
  • Safety-conscious and detail-oriented
