Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented International Freight Forwarder to join our dynamic team in Canada. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international air and ocean freight operations (import and export), ensuring compliance with Canadian and international regulations, and maintaining exceptional service levels. Proficiency in CargoWise is considered a strong asset. 

  • Coordinate international air freight import and export shipments, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, and final delivery.

  • Manage ocean freight imports (FCL and LCL), including carrier bookings, container tracking, and coordination with steamship lines and overseas agents.

  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, airway bills).

  • Ensure compliance with applicable customs and trade regulations (CBSA, IATA, Transport Canada, etc.).

  • Communicate effectively with overseas agents, customers, customs brokers, and carriers.

  • Monitor shipments and provide proactive updates to clients, resolving issues as they arise.

  • Accurately enter and maintain shipment data in CargoWise and ensure system accuracy for billing and reporting.

  • Collaborate with internal departments including sales, customer service, and finance to support client needs.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of international freight forwarding trends, tariffs, and trade regulations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in international freight forwarding (air and ocean, import and export) a strong asset, logistics experience will also count

  • Knowledge of air cargo regulationsINCOTERMS, and international trade documentation.

  • Solid understanding of ocean freight, including FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) processes.

  • Experience with CargoWise is a strong asset.

  • Familiarity with Canadian customs procedures and import/export compliance.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
    Education & Certifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field an asset.

  • CIFFA or other industry-recognized certifications are an asset.
