Job description

Duties and Requirements:

  • Comply with all Safety Department policies and procedure to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Run successful preventative maintenance program efficiently at assigned Terminal(s).
  • Responsible for repairing and servicing customer and company owned equipment.
  • Perform scheduled inspections for planned maintenance.
  • Conduct evaluations on malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain logs of equipment condition and work performed.
  • Responsible for monitoring company owned assets, equipment, and tools.
  • Complete daily site activities at Intermodal terminals as assigned.
  • Complete work orders, timecards, and customer maintenance records
  • Complete uniform maintenance record keeping protocol at terminal.
  • Create parts lists for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Willing to work with the Purchasing Department / Parts Department
  • Willing to work in the weather elements (hot and cold environments)
  • Willing to work at heights (80 feet) in man basket / aerial lift.
  • Willing to work overtime as assigned.
  • Participate in Call Out Rotation (On call to response to customer needs)
  • Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic machine systems
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Belief that safety is a necessity, not an option
  • At least 5 years of heavy equipment maintenance and repair experience
  • Extensive knowledge on hydraulic, electrical, and engine systems
  • Understanding of various OEM platforms
  • Understanding preventative maintenance
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent record-keeping capabilities
  • Collaborative spirit
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs. throughout a normal shift
