Job description

Overview

As a Material Handler, also known as a Returnable Plastic Container (RPC) Sorter, you'll get to hand sort a container weighing about 10 ounces that issued to ship produce, eggs, meat, and other goods onto pallets for manufacturers. This is a vital role for our sites to ensure we maintain a high level of efficiency and accuracy of performance!   

Hourly Pay: 

$16.00/hr                     

Shift(s): 

2nd shift: Monday - Thursday 4:00pm - 2:30am

Location: 

8230 Plummer Street Bldg 3, Suite 200 Houston, TX 77029

What You'll Do
  • Hand stack RPC's on pallets to appropriate height, following inventory control instructions

  • Examine products for quality standards

  • Ensure all trash and debris is removed prior to returning to customer

  • Wrap sorted pallets and secure for shipment

  • Move pallets, or materials on pallets or in crates, around the storage facility

  • Accurately complete all paperwork to track daily progress 

  • Communicate directly with Shift Lead or On-Site Manager regularly

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills needed 

  • Ability to work overtime when needed

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes) 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds
