Job Summary
The Material Handler / Forklift Operator performs a variety of warehouse and logistics functions, including receiving, storing, picking, moving, and loading materials. This role requires forklift operation, inventory handling, order preparation, and maintaining safe and efficient warehouse operations.
Responsibilities
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Pick, count, stage, and prepare materials for shipping and customer orders.
  • Load and unload trucks and move materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Receive, store, and distribute products, tools, equipment, and inventory.
  • Sort and organize materials on racks, shelves, pallets, and designated storage locations.
  • Verify shipping, receiving, inventory, and operational documents for accuracy.
  • Build, tear down, and secure crates, containers, and packaging materials using hand tools.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and operational concerns and communicate them to leadership.
  • Assist with training and providing basic guidance to new team members when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout warehouse and staging areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
  • Support additional warehouse and logistics operations as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2 years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to read and complete shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to navigate web-based systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
  • Current forklift certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience with RF scanners, inventory management systems, and warehouse software.
  • Previous experience training or mentoring warehouse associates.
Work Environment
  • Fast-paced warehouse and distribution setting.
  • Frequent forklift operation and material movement.
  • Standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching throughout the shift.
