Job description

The Role:

Are you looking for a dynamic PR agency where youโ€™re mentored for growth? If so, Moxie Communications Group is the place for you.

Moxie is hiring an Account Manager to lead several account teams in the development and execution of PR strategies across a mix of B2B and consumer tech clients. Successful candidates will have 5+ years of public relations experience with consumer and/or B2B tech clients in an agency environment, with 2+ of those years in a team management capacity.ย 

This position is open to candidates based in New York; New Jersey; Connecticut; California; Colorado; Florida; Pennsylvania; Texas; or Washington, DC. Moxie operates as a remote-first team with offices in New York City (SoHo, Manhattan) and Los Angeles (Culver City) available to those who want them.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee PR and thought leadership strategy development, from messaging to media outreach, for 5+ clients simultaneously
  • Lead and manage teams of 4 - 7 people from both tactical and developmental standpoints, owning senior tasks and driving the day-to-day execution of work against client goals
  • Build client relationships and provide ongoing strategic counsel, serving as main daily contact
  • Develop big picture story ideas with teams, while inspiring idea generation
  • Maintain and leverage key media relationships, owning specific outlets and contacts
  • Staff journalist interviews
  • Review documents, including press releases, pitches, conference / award submissions and other materials, and provide actionable feedback
  • Serve as a company leader in both team and agency growth, while managing and mentoring direct reports and team bandwidth
  • Participate in new business calls and pitches

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of public relations experience in an agency environment with a diverse set of clients across consumer and/or B2B tech, including 2+ years of managing multiple teams and clients simultaneously
  • Demonstrated success in securing media coverage across business, consumer, tech, and/or trade press, and a strong network of active media relationships across traditional and new media (Substack, podcasts, YouTube, etc.)
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven, with the ability to stay organized and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment to deliver on client KPIs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various media verticals
  • A collaborative mindset, passion for continuous learning, and genuine interest in mentorship of junior team members
  • Experience leading thought leadership programs, including conferences, awards and contributed content / op-eds, is a plus
  • Experience with affiliate marketing and influencers is a plus, but not required

Compensation:

The expected salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
