Job description

Employment Type:Part timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Covers inpatient or outpatient positions as need to cover for PTO and FMLA coverage. Assess the nutrition status of assigned patients and implement all components of the nutrition care process, according to food and nutrition department policies and local regulatory standards (IDPH, TJC, CMS, etc.). Monitors and evaluates nutrition interventions, makes appropriate adjustments to plans as needed.
  • Assess, interpret, plan, monitor, and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of patients using evidence-based standards of care, policies and practice guidelines. Perform a nutrition-focused physical exam on patients. Identify and provide age-specific nutrition care and meet the cultural needs of the patients and their families. Work within an inter-disciplinary team to provide a plan of care to achieve the patient's health goals.
  • Educate patients, care givers, students, and other health care colleagues on the effect of therapeutic diets and nutrition support to maintain/improve nutritional status.
  • When assigned, provide support and supervision to the daily infant formula preparation routine which includes identifying and calculating recipes to individualize the formula to meet nutritional needs of the infant.
  • Participate in department activities to enhance patient satisfaction.
  • Keep current on nutrition research and incorporate into daily practice. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Master's Degree
  • Specify Degree(s): Dietetics, Nutrition or Family & Consumer Science with ACEND (Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics) requirements completed.
  • Required: Less than one year of previous job-related experience
  • Required: Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration and Licensed as a Dietitian with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Must obtain registration and licensure within 6 months of hire date.

Pay Rate: $30.01 per hour

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
