LOCATION OF POSITION: Fairport NY 14450; Multi-Occ/FOCUS
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Long Term Substitute.
STARTING DATE: September 2026
SALARY RANGE: $21.73 - $34.01 per hour
*Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.
DUTIES:
1. Assist teachers in providing instruction and supervision to high school students with disabilities in the Consumer and Family Science program.
2. Work cooperatively with the Consumer and Family Science teacher and support staff to support student needs.
3. Assist the teacher with implementing students' IEP (Individualized Education Program)
4. Assist teachers in maintaining student records such as attendance.
5. Other duties as determined by the classroom teacher or program administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid NYS Teaching Assistant Certificate or NYS Teacher Certificate required, or willingness to obtain *See certification requirements below
2. Experience working with students with behavioral/emotional disabilities and developmental disabilities preferred.
3. Experience or coursework in Human Services and Family Studies, Food and Nutrition, Textiles and Design, or Consumer Skills, Resource Management and Career Studies, preferred.
4. Training in individual and classroom management systems preferred.
5. Training in Life Space Interventions/SCIP-R/TCI/CPI or similar systems preferred.
6. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation) including, but not limited to:
  • Ability to use approved physical intervention techniques when necessary.
  • Lifting and/or carrying.
  • Standing, stooping, bending, crouching, squatting, kneeling, and/or reaching.
  • Walking, running, and/or escorting students in multiple settings.
