Job description

Quanta Power Solutions brings together the industry-leading capabilities and resources of Quanta's operating companies to deliver complete EPC solutions. Our integrated approach spans power generation, battery energy storage, renewables, transmission, substation, and underground infrastructure — from concept to commissioning, we execute complex power infrastructure projects with the speed, certainty, and operational excellence our customers depend on.

At Quanta Power Solutions, we are driven by a culture of safety, integrity, and disciplined execution — and we're building a team that shares that commitment.

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking experienced Project Managers with a proven background leading EPC power generation projects, specifically focused on gas-fired power plants. This role supports large-scale energy infrastructure projects including combined-cycle, simple-cycle, and other thermal generation facilities.

This position is ideal for professionals with direct experience managing power generation facility construction projects from engineering through commissioning. Candidates whose experience is limited to substations, transmission & distribution (T&D), or grid-only projects will not be considered for this role.

The Project Manager will provide leadership across the full EPC lifecycle while coordinating engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and client engagement activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

  • Lead all phases of EPC project execution for large-scale gas-fired power generation facilities from design through commissioning
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and overall execution strategy
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to maintain alignment on project deliverables and milestones
  • Serve as a primary interface with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal leadership teams
  • Oversee project financial performance including forecasting, reporting, cost controls, and change management processes
  • Drive project planning, execution, and risk mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, client specifications, contractual obligations, and safety expectations
  • Support staffing coordination, resource planning, and project execution scheduling
  • Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
  • Support construction execution, startup coordination, and commissioning activities as needed
  • Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary project teams throughout the project lifecycle

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Proven EPC project management experience supporting gas-fired or coal-fired power generation facilities
  • Direct experience supporting combined-cycle, simple-cycle, or thermal power plant construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project execution, construction sequencing, and commissioning coordination
  • Experience with project controls, cost forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management
  • Demonstrated success leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale industrial or utility infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced project environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting renewable or hybrid generation projects including solar, wind, or battery energy storage systems (BESS)
  • Prior EPC experience supporting utility-scale or industrial clients including data centers, manufacturing facilities, or high-load consumers
  • Experience managing startup and commissioning coordination activities
  • Familiarity with major industrial construction contracts and procurement strategies

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% nationwide
  • Ability to support activities in the Birmingham, Alabama office as required
  • Employee may be required to visit job sites, field offices, and customer locations
