West Point Contractors is seeking a results-driven Project Manager to lead the successful execution of varied federal construction projects across the West Coast. This role carries full responsibility for project direction, schedule performance, cost control, and overall financial outcomes. Travel of 25%+ is expected.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with proven experience delivering Federal Government projects, ideally within all construction aspects. Proven ability to coordinate project teams, schedules, budgets and resources to ensure projects are completed safety, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate brings strong command of contract administration, field coordination, subcontractor management, and compliance requirements specific to federal work (including safety, reporting, and documentation standards).

Project Manager Responsibilities
  • Coordinate communication between key stakeholders and project teams
  • Monitor and report resources and daily operations
  • Monitor costs to ensure profitability, margins, and expected financial performance
  • Perform accurate project revenue and cost financial forecasting to ensure corporate profitability goals are met
  • Run projects at profitability levels that meet or exceed expected margins
  • Coordinate with estimators and project controls to establish budgets
  • Develop comprehensive project start-up plans and lead successful kickoff meetings
  • Create and maintain an environment of dynamic communication to ensure efficient, safe, and profitable work execution
  • Ensure proper job controls including cost tracking, revenue, scheduling, and document management
  • Establish and maintain relationships with owners, vendors, partners, and subcontractors, ensuring excellent customer service and long-term partnerships
  • Prepare accurate project reports for continuous performance improvement
  • Build, lead, and manage diverse project teams
  • Schedule appropriate personnel; ensure team members are working effectively and safely
  • Budget and track costs; keep accurate expense records tied to project scope
  • Develop project budgets and estimates for contract changes
  • Assemble project contracts and negotiate buyout during contracting
  • Schedule suppliers, equipment, and materials; manage mobilization and demobilization
  • Verify contract compliance and maintain document controls
  • Work independently and collaboratively
  • Develop, establish, and implement department-related procedures for companywide use
  • Comply with, support, and promote corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field is required. Specific work experience may be substituted for a degree.

Work Experience
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in a construction management environment
  • Required experience on federal or public works projects-particularly FAA, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Experience with structural steel buildings, asphalt paving, sitework, utilities, and MEP's preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of construction, tenant improvements, repairs/alterations, civil work, and utilities
  • Ability to work in a high-production environment
  • Demonstrated decision-making skills
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with BuilderTrend or other construction software preferred
  • Experience & proficiency with CPM project scheduling such as Primavera P6.

These clearances include entry level background checks can also include, fingerprinting, proof of citizenship, declaration for federal employment, tuberculosis testing, and credit checks.
