About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Risk Advisor to own construction client relationships end-to-end and help scale our construction vertical. You'll work directly with business leaders at GCs, specialty contractors, and developers to assess exposures, lead Risk Analyses, and deliver tailored solutions that drive measurable impact. This role requires deep fluency in construction casualty, builders risk, and program structures - and the ability to credibly advise senior executives on how to protect their business.

What You'll Do

  • Own and manage a portfolio of construction accounts end-to-end, including GCs, specialty subcontractors, developers, and owners across admitted and E&S markets.
  • Lead client-facing Risk Analyses with senior executives, diagnosing coverage gaps across GL, WC, Auto, Umbrella/Excess, Builders Risk, and Inland Marine.
  • Develop and present marketing proposals for renewals and new business, including thorough program comparisons covering exposure changes, loss history, coverage terms, and cost of risk.
  • Build and refine playbooks for the construction vertical to create repeatable, scalable best practices for future advisors.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key underwriting partners across both admitted and wholesale/E&S markets with construction expertise.
  • Conduct contract and certificate reviews, identifying insurance requirements and coverage mismatches before they become claims issues.
  • Lead, measure, and report on ongoing insurance programs, including audits, adjustments, endorsements, and claims coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with Growth, Product, and Ops teams to ensure seamless execution and a differentiated client experience.
  • Translate client needs into actionable insights for underwriting, operations, and product improvements.

Who You Are

  • 4-7 years of commercial insurance experience, with a strong preference for candidates with dedicated construction or contractor account experience.
  • Deep familiarity with construction risk - including GL (including OCIPs/CCIPs), WC, commercial auto, umbrella/excess towers, builders risk, and professional lines.
  • Confident leading high-stakes client conversations and comfortable presenting analyses, program comparisons, or broker proposals to C-suite and ownership-level executives.
  • Experienced in marketplace submissions, carrier negotiations, and coverage strategy across both admitted and E&S markets.
  • Deeply curious about how construction businesses operate and motivated to become a trusted advisor to their leaders.
  • Strong communicator who thrives in fast-moving, collaborative environments.
  • Highly detail-oriented and accountable - you own outcomes, not just tasks.
  • Active P&C Brokers License required (or must be obtained within 120 days of hire).
  • CIC, CPCU, or other relevant professional designation a plus.

Compensation

For candidates based in the United States, the expected pay range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000/year. Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, experience, skills, and qualifications. This role is also eligible for variable compensation including quota-based incentives where applicable.
