Job description

Client located in Denver, Colorado is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Construction Project Manager/Lead to join their team for a contract to hire position. Someone who can provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of construction projects while guiding and elevating a team of PMs. Federal project experience preferred. This role is operating as a bridge between executive leadership and project execution. The successful candidate will focus on portfolio performance, team effectiveness, contract strategy and risk management. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a development mindset, capable of driving consistency, accountability and performance across multiple projects and stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with financial, schedule and quality objectives.
  • Intervene selectively at critical moments to guide outcomes without taking over execution
  • Ensure General Contractors, Architects and other essential vendors are effectively managed, contractually aligned and delivering expectations.
  • Provide coaching and strategic guidance while preserving individual ownership and autonomy
  • Serv as the primary escalation point for complex project, contractor architect or team related challenges
  • Set the approach for contract structing, negotiation and administration across projects
  • Oversee change order strategy and claims management to protect project financials
  • Ensure scalable processes tools and reporting frameworks are in place across the portfolio.


Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in owner/developer construction, federal projects a plus but not required
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate Development or demonstrated experience in related field
  • Demonstrated experience operating at a portfolio or multi-project leadership level
  • Deep expertise in construction contracts, delivery methods and risk management
  • Strong financial acumen with experience overseeing budgets at a scale
