POSITION SUMMARY
A&A is seeking an experienced Construction Field Representative / Utility Construction Observer to provide full-time field observation, daily construction documentation, photo documentation, and project support services for a major municipal underground utility infrastructure project.
In this role, you serve as the owner's "eyes and ears" in the field. Your focus is observation, documentation, communication, and reporting โ keeping the project team informed with accurate, timely records of daily construction activity.
Please note: this is not a supervisory, engineering, regulatory, inspection-authority, or code-enforcement position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
โข Maintain a daily field presence on the assigned construction site โข Observe underground utility, civil, pipeline, and/or water/wastewater construction activities โข Prepare accurate and timely daily field reports โข Document contractor manpower, equipment, materials, work locations, weather, delays, and progress โข Capture organized project photographs โข Review project documents such as plans, specifications, RFIs, and submittals as needed โข Identify and document field conflicts, apparent deviations, quality concerns, or changing site conditions โข Communicate observations through the established project chain of command โข Attend project meetings when requested โข Maintain organized electronic project records โข Assist with weekly progress summaries and issue tracking
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
โข Minimum of three (3) years of experience in underground utility, civil, pipeline, water/wastewater, or related construction โข Strong understanding of utility construction operations, including excavation, trenching, bedding, pipe installation, backfill, restoration, and related work โข Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, and submittals โข Experience preparing daily reports, field notes, or construction documentation โข Strong written communication skills โข Excellent organization and attention to detail โข Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, PDF software, smartphones, tablets, and cloud-based reporting tools โข Reliable transportation โข Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a field-based role. Work is performed outdoors on active construction sites and may involve exposure to construction equipment, excavations, vehicle traffic, noise, varying weather conditions, and other typical active jobsite conditions.
COMPENSATION
$25.00 โ $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
