Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Manager in Orange, CA.

Job Details:

  • Lead on-site construction execution, review, and inspection activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain oversight of daily construction operations by monitoring contractor performance, coordinating subcontractors, tracking schedules, sequencing work, and supporting procurement
  • Serve as the owner's representative and key construction lead throughout the construction phase
  • Review, interpret, and administer construction contracts, including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, progress reports, and change management
  • Coordinate closely with design engineers, resident engineers, and design consultants to clarify design intent and resolve designrelated field issues
  • Manage coordination with public agencies, utility owners, rail operations groups, permitting authorities, and other third parties to resolve conflicts and facilitate necessary approvals
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, coordination sessions, and stakeholder status reviews
  • Provide guidance to employees within the framework of established policies
  • Establish procedures that impact the immediate organization
  • Work on issues of diverse scope by evaluating various factors and considering current business trends
  • Act as an advisor to subordinates to help meet schedules and resolve technical problems
  • Oversee project administration throughout the construction cycle, including technical performance, financial management, and client satisfaction
  • Remain accountable for developing, coordinating, and executing planning, design, and construction management activities, as well as managing personnel on a daytoday basis
  • Up to 10% domestic travel required
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study and 8 years of experience as a Construction Manager or in a related occupation.

Alternatively, the employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study and 4 years of experience as a Construction Manager or in a related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

  2. Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  3. Working with design specs and drawings
  4. Document Control
  5. Constructability reviews of all submittals in relationship to Shop Drawings, RFI's, and construction work plans
  6. As-built Record of Drawings
  7. Change Orders & NCR Processes
  8. Claims Management
  9. Project Closeout
  10. Construction Inspections and Audits
  11. Environmental Compliance
  12. Permit Coordination
  13. Development of weekly and Monthly Reports
  14. Review of Pay Applications
