Project Manager – Interiors ($90k-100k)

A well-established Austin-based architecture and design firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Interiors to lead interior projects from early design through construction and close-out.

This position is ideal for someone who can turn ambitious interior concepts into coordinated, buildable environments while managing clients, consultants, contractors, schedules, budgets, and internal design teams. Projects include corporate interiors, mixed-use developments, student housing, hospitality, and other commercial environments.

Performance Objectives

• Manage 4–6 interior projects annually from schematic design through construction and close-out.
• Maintain project schedules and budgets while protecting design quality and client expectations.
• Coordinate consultants, contractors, and internal designers to resolve RFIs, submittals, documentation issues, and construction questions efficiently.
• Guide interior packages through client approval while ensuring compliance with programming requirements, building codes, accessibility standards, and applicable sustainability goals.
• Identify scope changes early and work with clients and project leadership to manage additional services and change orders appropriately.
• Provide clear project updates that keep clients and internal leadership informed of progress, deadlines, risks, and upcoming decisions.
• Lead construction administration and close-out activities to ensure completed spaces align with the approved design.
• Mentor junior designers and help them develop stronger documentation, coordination, and project-management skills.

Environment & Resources

You will report to a Principal and work within a collaborative Austin design studio alongside architects, interior designers, project managers, consultants, and other design professionals.

The team utilizes Revit, specification software, and cloud-based project-management platforms to coordinate project delivery.

This role provides direct interaction with senior leadership as well as meaningful responsibility for client communication, consultant coordination, project scheduling, documentation, and construction administration.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing interior architecture, commercial interiors, or design-build projects of comparable scale and complexity.
• Experience managing projects from early design through construction administration and close-out.
• Proven ability to coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal design teams.
• Strong understanding of interior building codes, accessibility requirements, and commercial interior standards.
• Familiarity with sustainability standards such as LEED, WELL, or comparable programs is preferred.
• Experience managing project scope, schedules, fees, and change orders.
• Strong construction administration experience, including RFIs, submittals, site observations, and punch-list coordination.
• Proficiency with Revit and related project delivery and documentation software.
• Strong written, verbal, visual, and client-facing communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining organization and design quality.
