Job description
Construction Inspector – Building Construction
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Projects Throughout Central Ohio)
Compensation: $24–$30/hour + Overtime
Compensation: $24–$30/hour + Overtime
We are hiring a Construction Inspector to support active commercial and building projects across Central Ohio.
You will be on-site daily ensuring work is performed correctly, safely, and in compliance with plans and codes. This is a field-first role with strong project exposure and consistent local work.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Inspect commercial and building construction activities for compliance with plans and codes
- Review structural, architectural, civil, and site work
- Verify materials, workmanship, and installations meet specifications
- Document daily reports, deficiencies, and corrective actions
- Coordinate directly with contractors, engineers, and project managers
- Maintain accurate records, photos, and inspection documentation
You will travel to job sites throughout Central Ohio. This is primarily field-based.
What You Need
- 2+ years of construction inspection or quality control experience
- Strong knowledge of building construction methods and materials
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Comfort working outdoors and walking active job sites
Strongly Preferred
- ICC, NICET, or other inspection certifications
- Experience with commercial or multi-story buildings
- OSHA 10/30 certification
- Concrete, steel, masonry, or framing inspection experience
