This role combines commercial driving responsibilities with crane/boom truck operation, requiring a hands-on professional who can safely maneuver heavy loads, operate mounted crane equipment, and coordinate closely with field crews to keep construction schedules on track.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a crane-equipped truck to transport concrete wall forms, panels, rigging, and related materials/equipment between the yard, storage locations, and active job sites.
  • Operate the truck-mounted crane/boom to load, unload, lift, and place wall forms and equipment at job sites, ensuring proper rigging, weight distribution, and load securement.

  • Coordinate with site superintendents, foremen, and crew members to schedule deliveries and pickups that align with project timelines.
  • Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and hours-of-service documentation as required by DOT regulations.
  • Navigate job sites, including uneven terrain, tight access points, and active construction zones, exercising caution around personnel and equipment.
  • Set up outriggers, stabilizers, and ground protection as needed to ensure safe and level crane operation.
  • Communicate clearly with ground crew/spotters using hand signals or radio during lifting operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the truck and crane equipment.
  • Assist with general yard duties, equipment staging, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B, as required by vehicle type).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience operating a crane truck/boom truck, preferably in construction, concrete forming, or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rigging techniques, load charts, and safe lifting practices.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, site plans, and delivery schedules.
  • Strong understanding of DOT and OSHA safety regulations related to commercial driving and crane operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience specifically transporting and setting concrete wall forms or similar construction materials.
  • Familiarity with construction site logistics and coordination with field crews.

  • Ability to climb in and out of the truck cab and crane operator station repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods on uneven job site terrain.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and hand-eye coordination for safe crane operation and vehicle maneuvering.

Work Schedule & Conditions

  • Full-time position; early morning start times common to meet job site delivery windows.
  • Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments based on project needs and weather conditions.
  • Work is performed primarily outdoors at active construction sites.
